BaRuIs e.V. submitted a funding application to the Saxon Youth Foundation in January 2023. Another project of hope for Rusinga Island. We defended our project and won! The jury decided in favour of our project and two others.

Our goal is to establish self-supporting and inclusive educational opportunities for the local youth, in particular the development of professional perspectives in the trade sector, which is in high demand. After all, as trained skilled workers, young adults not only secure their own livelihood and that of their families, but also make a significant contribution to the economic development of the region. We want to support the WAKIAGA Youth Polytechnic vocational school and the NYAMUGA special school for students with handicaps, help modernize and expand the two schools, create a healthy and productive learning environment for children and young people from low-income families, and better equip the training courses or establish new ones.
